Whether you are struggling with low mood, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties or complex decisions, individual counselling with a trained therapist offers a supportive space to help you untangle and better understand your difficulties.

Together we will explore the patterns, beliefs and emotional experiences that are keeping you stuck. Our therapists draw on a range of evidence based theories such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, EMDR, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness Meditation or trauma based approaches to help cultivate a greater sense of stability, calm and create lasting change.

Adolescence is a time of deep emotional and social development, a season of becoming. At Therapy in The City, we offer a supportive space where young people can explore who they are, navigate life’s challenges, and begin to shape a sense of identity, purpose, and belonging.

 

Our youth counselling supports teens facing anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, social struggles, academic stress, and inner questions that are often hard to name.

 

We recognize that part of growing up is learning how to connect meaningfully with others, contribute to the world, and find one’s place in it. Our therapists draw on a blend of evidence-based and developmentally attuned approaches, including CBT, IFS, EMDR, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care to help teens build confidence, self-awareness, and resilience.

Healing isn’t linear. It unfolds in layers and is unique to you. That’s why our team of experienced therapists offer a personalized approach, while drawing from a rich palette of evidence-based approaches to assist you in cultivating greater self-understanding, broaden your perspective towards life situations and better cope.

​Depth-Oriented Therapy

 

Therapy  in The City also offers depth-oriented therapy which aims to move beyond symptom relief towards a deeper sense of self and enriched quality of life. Symptoms, in the form of moods, thoughts, feelings and behaviours often cause distress and may bring us to therapy. However, they can also lead to a deeper understanding of the context from which they emerged. When we begin to attune to our inner experience through a reflective process, our symptoms often soften and gradually transform through a process of relating to ourself differently. Depth oriented therapy is grounded in psychoanalytic, Jungian and humanistic traditions. These perspectives see psychotherapy as a unique relational space where we can reflect honestly on who we are, how we’ve come to be this way, and what might be possible going forward.

 

Through techniques grounded in Jungian Psychology, IFS, EMDR, Schema Therapy, and mindfulness, we begin to:
